About Betty Kregor
Betty Baird Kregor is an LPGA Master Teaching Professional and owner of StraightShot Inc., specializing in the DISC personality system to mentor and advise athletes of all ages and talent levels.
In 2014, Kregor retired from over 27 years of teaching golf to consult athletes in the mental aspects of sport and serve as a "performance coach" for goals, scheduling, practice programs, college advising and more.
Her LPGA education in DISC profiling allows an athlete to maximize their performance with "self awareness" of their strengths and weaknesses. It is also an important tool in finding the right college fit which is a component of Kregor's expertise. College athletic consulting is a service that benefits 9-12th graders in learning how to market their talents, schedule college visits and value the importance of academics.
Kregor is a nine-time Kentucky Junior PGA Champion, the 1974 Junior World Champion Girl's 13-14, 1976 Girl's Western National Runner-Up and Girl's Western Medalist. In 1977-79 she was a three time NJGA All-American and Second Team AJGA All-American 1979. Kregor is a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Louisville Metro Athletic Director's Hall of Fame, and the KCD Bearcat Hall of Fame.
Betty is married to Mark F. Kregor, Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor, Stifel. They have four busy children: Maggie, a former golf team member of the University of Alabama and now a user experience designer living in Charleston, SC; Baird, played college baseball at Volunteer State Community College and then Indiana University Southeast helping led them to a National Regional Tournament appearance in 2010; Mollie, a seven-time World Champion Saddlebred and Hackney pony equestrian; and Paige, a former standout high school tennis player and now an attorney in Charleston, SC.

Betty Baird Kregor, LPGA’s career in golf has sprawled multiple outlets, but each component has been widely successful. It started at a young age with Kregor becoming one of the most successful junior females in Kentucky golf history. She won the Kentucky Girls Junior PGA Championship nine times, became the first girl to win a boy’s flight at the Junior Fall Cities in 1974, and won the KHSAA Girls State Championship in 1979. Her college career featured more success with the Alabama Crimson Tide, highlighted by several high finishes as an individual and as a team in conference and national championships.
